What moisturiser works better, natural prouducts or store bought

We believe natural products will work better because they contain no artificial ingredients and are likely healthier than store-bought alternatives. We think natural products are better the the skin due to reasoning that some store bought products can have harmful ingrediants in the products!

Moisturizers are really important for taking care of your skin. Using them every day is extra important for people who have eczema, like atopic dermatitis, because it helps keep their skin from getting too dry. Including the fact that your skin is the largest organ in your body so keeping it protected. Which is why testing these products is good to not just help with dry skin but to help and see which product works better for your skin.

Controlled Variables:Gelatin because it starts the same weight.

Manipulated Variable: The moisturizers because we used different types of moisturizers.

• Make gelatin

• Put gelatin in refrigerator

• Weigh the gelatin cubes

• Apply moisturizers to jello cubes

• Wait 12, 24, 48 Hours

• Weigh the cubes and see what they weigh

We observed that after 24 hours, the gelatin pieces started getting all shriveled up and started drying out after we put on the moisturizer. And after 48 hours they got worse and became very small. For the natural products the aloe vera gel, for the store bought products the st ives shriveled up the most. The least shriveled up for the natral was coconut oil and for the store bought cerave was not as shriveled up

Our hypothesis was incorrect. Because we thought the natural products worked better because it does not contain chemicals that can be harsh on skin. But the store bought products worked better, and CeraVe is the winner.

In the real world we can use cerave or coconut oil and now we know and hopefully you do to but that we can make sure we check the products were using on our skin. And make sure we are using the right products.

What we would do differently is probably use a jello cutter to make it very precise. What else we would do to make it different is having a way to spred out the moisturizers more evenly.
