CWSF projects

346 Canada-Wide Science Fair projects from 2026, with their abstracts, divisions and medals, each linked back to the Youth Science Canada listing it came from.

How much of CWSF is here

Less than you might want, and the honest number is on this page rather than buried: the archive holds 346 CWSF projects covering 2026, against 20,037 projects in total. A historical backfill is the single largest gap in this corpus. If you are searching for Canadian prior work and find nothing, treat that as a thin archive rather than an empty field.

The Calgary Youth Science Fair is better covered — 1,194 projects, 2025–2026 — and is the regional feeder many CWSF finalists come through. Browse CYSF →

Medals and awards

CWSF awards gold, silver and bronze medals within each division, plus Challenge Awards for the best project addressing each of the fair's themes, and a Best Project award overall. Those names come through from the source, and where the source publishes an untranslated key rather than a name, the page says so instead of guessing.

CWSF projects by category

CWSF and ISEF are not the same competition

They judge differently and are worth searching separately. CWSF runs divisions by grade and awards medals within them; ISEF runs categories and awards First through Fourth within each. A CWSF project is typically presented in both official languages and to a broader judging panel. The practical consequence for a search: the same idea can appear under quite different category labels at the two fairs, so search by meaning across both rather than by category at one.
