The Powerful Water
ISEF · 2014 Energy: Chemical
Overview
The objective of this project was to test the effectiveness of various water turbine types. In order to do this, 5 sets of miniature blades were created and attached to a small water wheel. It was then tested using the time it took to pull up a small weight as water was poured onto it at a uniform height. The resulting data confirmed my hypothesis and showed that the water wheel blades that allow water to apply forces onto them for the longest function the best at any weight.
