Overview

Dementia is a global health concern that affects approximately 57 million senior citizens worldwide. This condition presents as a variety of behavioral, cognitive, and physical symptoms that can have profound impacts on the lives of those affected. Remem-Bear is a novel, interactive approach to dementia care that implements various therapeutic components to provide comprehensive support to dementia patients both in care facilities and living at home. It can be used by seniors to increase cognitive function, fine motor abilities, and reminiscence while also reducing anxiety and other adverse responses. Its familiar and simplistic design would allow this product to be manufactured at a fraction of the cost of many currently available support technologies, making it accessible to those who need it most. This device has the potential to greatly improve the quality of life for seniors with dementia by reducing caregiver dependency, increasing functional abilities, and improving autonomy.
