Overview
Every year there’s a lot of food waste in China, the goal of this project was to decrease the food waste in my school canteen by creating a device. The project involved the design and distribution of a survey to find out the reason why students waste food. The prototype was coded though mind+, python. It contains mpython, HUSKYLENS AI camera, and weight sensor. It can obtain the identity information though face recognition. Students are needed to put their plate on the weight sensor before and after eating. Then program calculates the amount of the food the students eat and compare to the previous data to give a recommended intake. The amount of food student get in canteen next will base on the recommended intake, in order to achieve the goal, decrease the food waste.
