Objectives/Goals To test if caffeine effects the fertilization of the purple sea urchin Methods/Materials The gametes from the purple sea urchin were collected and were added to the concentrations of caffeine for a period of 5 minutes, and then slides were prepared and observed to determine the success rate of the fertilization process for each caffine concentration. Results The experimental results indicated a notable decrease in the success rate of each increasing concentraion of caffeine
