Deaf Alerter
ISEF · 2016 Biomedical and Health Sciences
Overview
Deafness is hearing deficiency or hearing loss it refers to the inability to hear things either totally or partially. Symptoms may be mild, moderate, severe or profound. Deaf people suffer from severe loss of hearing. They often use sign language to communicate. This project aims to use the sense of feeling of vibrations through the skin to work as an alert system for the deaf people to warn them from any threating source that exists on their sides or behind their backs. An Arduino, microphone and Vibration motors are used to turn sound from behind into a vibrating alert. Many hazards that surround mankind are often accompanied with a noticeable rise in sound intensity, this causes the person who hears this rise in sound’s intensity to have a quick reaction and turn their faces to the source of warning to help them react to the source of danger.
