What is UV light and how does it affect us?

We hypothesize that the card with sunscreen will not change color and the card without sunscreen will change color. Surveen can relate to this, as when she had gone to Los Angeles, she had gotten really tan.

Manipulated Variable: Application of sunscreen

Constant Variable: UV light, time of shining, UV light card,

distance from where light is put on the card.

Responding Variable: Color of the card

Step 1: Take two UV detector cards and place them on the table.

Step 2: Put sunscreen on one card.

Step 3: Shine the UV flashlight on both cards.

Step 4: Compare both cards and find the difference.

In conclusion this project we explored the effects of ultraviolet (UV) light on us. Our experiments showed that UV light can cause sunburn, skin aging and other skin conditions.

Overall, this project helped us understand the importance of UV light in our daily lives and the need to protect ourselves from its harmful effects.

We should always use sunscreen and wear protective clothing when spending time outdoors to minimize the risks associated with UV exposure.
