What Genre of Music Creates the Most Energy?
ISEF · 2022 Energy: Sustainable Materials and Design
Overview
In the experiment, the group decided to investigate which genre of music creates the most amount of energy by using a mechanism that will use sound waves to convert them into energy. They first researched possible ways to design the mechanism for its functions to work efficiently. The mechanism we designed mainly consisted of 2 speaker drivers that will turn the sound waves produced by one speaker into energy to another. There were 3 anonymously picked songs, picked by the group (under the consensus that the songs were familiar with the group members), to represent the genres without bias. The genres decided to experiment with are Hip Hop, Pop, Jazz, Rock, Electronic and Classical. At the end of our experiment, the group concluded that it would be possible to gather energy from sound and music as well. This idea can be developed to be used soon in the storage of voltage.
