The Hair Pull
CSEF · 2004 Materials Science (Junior Division Only)
Overview
Objectives/Goals To determine what substance makes hair stretch the longest before breaking. Methods/Materials I tested my hair in six different substances to determine what one helped the hair stretch the longest. I used for my liquids kirkland shampoo and conditioner, water from the tap, hydrogen peroxide, bleach, and a strand completly dry. Results The results were that the shampoo helped the hair stretch the most and the conditioner helped it the least. Conclusions/Discussion My hypothesis was correct the shampoo indeed helped the hair the most but i was wrong about the conditioner.
Summary statement
I tested the effect of differently treated hair on the lenght it will stretch before it snaps.
