The Effect of screens

Kids and adults are having excessive amounts of screen time, and in some cases it is effcting their daily life.

First we found out how screens emit blue light, then figured out what it does to the brain. we did different sections for adults and kids.

The Effect of Screens

In 2025 screen time for both kids and adults has been increasing. The main problem being phones. For the most part, kids don’t have phones, but that has been changing over the course of a decade. Now, 42 percent of kids have a phone by age 10. By age 12, it's 71 percent. By 14, it's 91 percent. Average screen time for kids ages 2 to 4 – 2 to 2.5 hours a day. Average screen time for kids ages 5 to 8 – Over 3 hours a day. Average screen time for tweens ages 8 to 12 – Almost 5 hours a day. Average screen time for teens – Almost 7.5 hours a day. Adults spend an average of 59 hours and 56 minutes on screens a week. For both adults and kids, we should try to limit screens to about an hour or two. By cutting off screens we would help kids (and adults) maintain healthy eyes that can last people a lifetime.
