TerraBrix: AgriWeave Blox: The Implementation of Old Building Techniques with Modern Construction Materials and Waste
CSEF · 2026 Environmental Engineering (Track 2) (Senior Division)
Overview
TerraBrix addresses the challenges of modern poultry farming and environmental degradation with the development of the AgriWeave Blox. Modern-day agricultural infrastructure for poultry farms often relies on metal and plastic materials, which are not the most effective insulators for both cold and hot thermal energy, leading to decreased egg production and increased risk of infections and diseases due to constant temperature fluctuations. Additionally, these materials contribute to the global waste crisis through microplastics and emissions generated during their production. The AgriWeave Blox is an innovative building material designed to bridge the gap between traditional building methods and modern building materials by utilizing various types of waste in our area. By using these waste streams, this product recycles waste for construction and carbon sequestration.
