Taj Eco Board
ISEF · 2016
Overview
Taj Eco board is a notice board that we produced from paddy straws. As we know, paddy straws are usually burned. However, paddy straws can be used in experiments incorporating paddy straws with natural rubber to make fibre boards. Lemon grass was also used because it can make the product free from pesticide. Taj Eco Board was successfully produced from a mixture of natural rubber (SMRL), paddy straws, recycled rubber(nitrile rubber) and lemon grass. These materials were compounded in the Two Roll-Mill compounding machine. Instead of using the old notice boards which are durable and heavy, Taj Eco boards are weather resistant, low cost and light in weight. With the addition of SMRL and nitrile rubber, a medium density notice board was produced successfully. Taj Eco boards are environment friendly and able to withstand rough weather.
