Surveying Sickle Cell Allele Frequency
ISEF · 2016
Overview
Sickle Cell Disease is a genetic condition present at birth. We screened willing participants within our area to indicate whether or not they had the trait or the disease. The screening consisted of collecting blood samples by finger pricking and running the hemoglobin samples through two different test, an assay test and an non-SDS native PAGE. The purpose of this project is to bring awareness to our study participants regarding Sickle Cell.
