Save Life. Be a Hero

Overview

For more than 20 years, our Palestinian community has been suffering from an increase in the number of people who are diagnosed with cancer, which has reached about 12,000 cases in 2019, while the number of patients who received dialysis service on a regular basis reached about 2,459 patients. Through conducting several meetings with the Health Directorate and doctors in various hospitals, we concluded that almost 50% of cancer patients especially in children need bone marrow transplant and is the most effective treatment, while kidney transplant is the best treatment for kidney failure patients. Often, it’s very difficult to find matching donors for patients, so they resort to find strange donors, which takes time, and cost lots of money to cover the expenses of all related tests, which cause deterioration in patients’ health. To solve this problem, we developed a website that aims to encourage people to register for donation, find donors in a very effective way and short time, and give hope for cancer patients, kidney failure patients, and to patients with genetic diseases such as thalassemia and sickle cell anemia. Donors only need to sign up, and they will have their own account. When a donor is needed, the hospital will enter the patient’s tests and the website will search for a matching and potential donor. Our website worked properly and indicated the percentage of each match. The website is committed to maintaining the privacy and confidentiality of information for patients and donors, respects the values, principles, and will of every donor. Our website targets everyone who believes in humanity, is willing to donate, and meets the requirements. Future to these patients is often unknown, and hope is what keeps them alive.
