Moldy Madness

CSEF · 2009 Microbiology

Overview

Methods/Materials we used the following materials: 3 IGA brand wheat bread slices, 3 Velveeta cheese slices, 2 thermometers,4 napkins, 6 ziploc bags, freezer, rerigerator, countor top Results the Freezer got litlle mold Refrigerator got medium amount of mold Room Temperature one got the most mold. Conclusions/Discussion Yes,temperature affects mold rrowth. We saw how much the mold grew at differnet at the sane time. It took forever for the mold to start growinhg and it was disgusting looking at the roon temperature mold. Every article said mold grows best at that humans prefer. We weren't supsised at what we saw. At furst, the mold on the cheese wouldn't grow because it was too dry. Once the mold started to grow, the warmer temperature really helped the mold to grow. We wouldn'd change anything that we did.
