Is Your Clothing Really That Safe?
ISEF · 2024 Materials Science
Overview
I got to set different clothing materials on fire with the help of a firefighter. Knowing how safe your clothing is, is really important if you have a job like a firefighter or working in the oil field. I set up tea light candles under 3 pieces of fabric and observed what happened over the course of 2 minutes. The goal of the experiment was to find out what clothing materials were the most fire resistant.
