Impact of AVID Participation on Academic Stress and Mental Health Awareness in High School Students
CSEF · 2026 Behavioral & Social Sciences (Senior Division)
Overview
High school students face high academic stress that can negatively affect mental health. This study compared stress, mental health awareness, and coping strategies between AVID and non-AVID students. A total of 109 students completed surveys assessing these factors. Results showed that AVID students had significantly lower stress and higher mental health awareness. They were also more likely to use positive coping strategies. These findings suggest that AVID supports both academic and emotional well-being.
