Home Support System for ALS Patients Based on the Internet of Things
ISEF · 2021 Robotics and Intelligent Machines
Overview
The main users of this home support system are disabled people who can have the subtle movements, like ALS patients. It involves three parts: signal receptor, software and the destination port, building a convenient bridge between special group and the intelligent furniture. We use sensor technology and wearable devices to make it easier and more convenient to use. The corresponding coding related to different actions has been put into the computer in advance, so we do not need the expertise to supervise the process. Wireless transmission can build the relationship with intellectual products without changing the devices. The cost of this product is low, making it highly cost effective. The needs for improving self-care and strengthening communication with the outside world can both be met satisfyingly. It is an innovative technology product that can provide substantial help for people with special needs in a new era. Our product integrates computer science, physics, engineering and a lot of subjects. We wish to give ALS patients more care in intelligent life through science and innovation, and to reduce the stress their families have from caring for these patients.
