Germs and You

ISEF · 2022 Microbiology

Overview

This experiment used a glow powder to show the way germs spread through direct contact with the help of a black light. This product was placed on the teachers hands and the teacher interacted with half of the students by shaking their hands. This allowed the observation to see how the germs spread through touch. It was shocking to see the elementary spreads less germs than the high school. Originally speculation was that the elementary would have spread more germs because they seemed to be less likely to be aware of the importance of fast spreading germs and social distancing practices along with basic hygiene practices.
