Here We Grow Agian

Overview
Here We Grow Again Caleb Sunia Northcreek Christian Academy We all enjoy apples but some take so long to ripen and so many go to waste. This experiment will also help farmers by growing their fruits faster and use the apples that are rancid to be used for good use. It will make for less bugs in the fruits because they are in an enclosed area. Which will give the farmers more income and give them a better chance of producing more again. This is why testing on plant ethylene is good. Also how does Hormone Ethylene help the growing process of an apple? To test this experiment I had to gather a refractometer, and I also gathered 10 unripe apples and 1 rotten apple. Then after every other day I tested the sugar content of the apples. In the end the basket with the rotten apples grew almost double what the non rotten apples did. In the 14 days of testing the rotten did better in sugar content average. The average of the rotten apples went from starting at 9.76% sugar content to 16.14% for the average, that is 6.38% increase. The apples with no rotten apples started at 9.44% for its average and finished at 12.6%, that is only a 3.16% increase that is half of the rotten apples increase. In conclusion the rotten apples grew to 6.38% sugar content and the non rotten apples sugar content grew to 3.16%. That is 2x greater sugar content.
