Can fruits float in salt water

In can fruits float on saltwater; I will be experimenting if fruits can float in saltwater. I predict that the fruits will be able to float in saltwater because I know that objects or in this scenario ( fruits) can't float in freshwater. Which is why I believe that the fruits will be able to float in saltwater. I also predict because saltwater has less density than freshwater and since it is easier for objects to float in fluids with low density it ma

y be easier for objects to float in saltwater and in that case maybe fruits can float in saltwater.

How to measure density

1. Measure the measuring glass

2. Fill the measuring glass with water until 100ml

3. Measure the glass with water on a scale

scale subtract step 1 answer from step 3 answer

5. Whatever the answer is divide it into the volume (100ml)

What is saltwater

Saltwater is naturally occuring salty water or water to which salt has been added.

After doing some research I found out that tap water has salt in it aswell. Since for my experiment I need freshwater . I will have to boil the water so all the salts can get dissolved.

What is the difference between saltwater and freshwater

I did some research on freshwater and saltwater. I found out that freshwater has a very low salt concentration while saltwater has a high salt concentration. After researching farther info I found out that freshwater contains 0.05% of salts while saltwater contains 3.5% of salt. Since saltwater is denser than freshwater it usually floats. An example in an experiment with honey, oil, and water. Honey, oil, and water have different densities. Honey is the dense stone. It weighs more. That is why it sinks to the bottom. Olive oil is the least dense. It weighs less. So it floats to the top. Waterbis less dense then Honey but more dense than oil. It stays in the middle. This example experiment explains density. If things are more denser it is more likely they sink and things that are less denser usually float more easier.

Each time I try my experiment I will be changing the fruits. Saltwater will be in one glass and freshwater will be in the other glass. Here is and example charts. Will these fruits float in saltwater, or sink in saltwater

2 measuring glasses

Salt

Boiled water ( cooled down so we can have freshwater

2 of any fruits

1. Pour freshwater into one measuring glass and saltwater in the other

2. Grab your fruit you are using and dump 1 into the saltwater and another into the freshwater

3. Watch your results!

4. After try again with another fruit.
