ASDetect: Detecting Early Signs of Autism Spectrum Disorder Using AI-Based Facial Recognition Techniques
ISEF · 2025 Behavioral and Social Sciences
Overview
This project introduces an Artificial intelligence powered web application designed to assist in the early detection of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) through facial expression analysis. Using a convolutional neural network (CNN), the system captures and evaluates facial expressions to provide real-time predictions. The user-friendly web app allows caregivers and professionals to easily capture images and receive instant feedback. Additionally, a stuffed toy equipped with a built-in camera and the same AI model offers a child-friendly approach to screening, making the process more natural and less intimidating. By integrating AI with accessible technology, this project makes a significant impact on the world.
