Arduino Eye

AJAS · 2019 Embedded Systems (inferred)

Overview

Those who are visually impaired currently have few affordable options to enhance mobility. Therefore a device was built that uses echolocation, which is what many blind animals use to find their way around objects. By interfacing a programmable microcontroller known as the Arduino, as well as, other various components, a small device was established that vibrates using a small motor. This alert on the visually-impaired wrist, allows the user to become aware of objects and safely navigate around them. Combined, all of these components are a powerful and beneficial gadget to assist the blind for less than $20.
