An Analysis of Microbial Reductions Methods for Lake Water

Overview
PURPOSE: The Purpose of my project was to analyze microbial growth in Lake Elsie. PROCEDURE:1)Collect water and muck samples from 4 different locations on Lake Elsie 2) Take to greenhouse to perform testing 3) Set up for testing 4)Swab water and muck samples at the following times : Initial Swabbing 5) Add decontamination method 6) Swab at the following times: Week 1, Week 2, Week 3, Week 4, Week 5, Week 6 7)Incubate all plates for 24 hours at 37 degrees Celsius 8) Remove plates from incubator 9) Count all colonies on plates 10)Analyze data CONCLUSION: No significant increases or decreases in microbial growth was shown throughout my testing
