Advancing Biotechnology in Africa
ISEF · 2019 Biomedical Engineering
Overview
There is an accelerated advancement in Biotechnology or biological sciences in developed communities as evidenced by the emergence of exponential technology fields like synthetic biology. However these advancements in Biotechnology have not been a reality in my country. The sub-par participation of my country and other African countries is mainly due to lack of resources and awareness. This project aims to revolutionize biotechnology and related technologies through the development of key equipment and resources using everyday low-cost materials. The present project has developed a gel electrophoresis machine which has already started changing the game.
